There is permanent wooden flooring within the Tipis meaning there’s a solid base for high heels to walk and for people to dance on!
This is probably the biggest and most important question we get asked, so we’ll break this down into two parts.
Regarding the ceremony, if you were planning to get wed in our outdoor ceremony area, we would be in close contact with you and your suppliers in the days leading up to your big day.
If we had concerns that the weather may be an issue, we would look to then agree to bring the ceremony to inside our ceremony tipi, which will be just as magical as in our outdoor ceremony area and we would work with your suppliers to ensure it was set beautifully and to your expectations.
Regarding the reception/rest of your wedding day, our 5 Tipis are made to withstand even the harshest of weather conditions.
We will have a clear PVC wall system which can be raised or lowered quickly to accommodate changes in the weather meaning that even if the sides are lowered, the views of the forest and surrounding natural beauty will not be obscured.
You can rest assured that rain or shine, you and your guests will be able to have the most magical wedding day
Bowland Tipis is a fully approved premises for the solemnization of marriages and the registration of civil partnerships.
We have the option of performing ceremonies in either the outdoor ceremony area or within the Tipis themselves, depending on your preference.
It will be your responsibility to contact the Lancashire County Council Ceremonies Office (East) to arrange for a Registrar to attend on the date of your wedding, but we’ll be happy to advise on this process.
Yes, we have a fully licensed, stocked, and staffed bar.
If you have any special requirements for certain drinks or cocktails, this can be arranged ahead of your big day, just let us know what you fancy!
We do not offer corkage.
You can book a wedding in our Tipis from April-October each year and they will be able to be viewed during that timeframe also.
We have heaters available to use in the cooler months and during the summer, the clear PVC sides of our Tipis can be fully raised allowing for extra ventilation.
When booking your wedding date with Bowland Tipis we will ask you if you’d like to secure any of the on-site accommodation available through Bowland Escapes (Luxury Lodges, Shepherds Huts and Camping Pods) as well as Horseshoe Glamping Executive Hire (Glamping Tents).
If the answer to that question is yes! We will take note of what you think you’d like to book and pass this information on to them.
In the case of Bowland Escapes (Luxury Lodges, Shepherds Huts and Camping Pods), they will then contact you and send a payment link for a 10% deposit to the total value of the accommodation you’d like to book, with the remainder being paid for nearer the time of your wedding. They can also send individual payment links, meaning that you can split the costs of the different accommodation types between your bridal party and guests.
With Horseshoe Glamping Executive Hire (Glamping Tents), they will then contact you and discuss what requirements you have for Glamping Tents depending on the number of guests you’d like and how they’d sleep (different tents hold 2, 4, 5 and 6 guests). Once this has been agreed, they will sort a payment process with you directly.
Whilst you are under no obligation to book the on-site accommodation with Bowland Escapes when booking your wedding at Bowland Tipis, we must make you aware that any accommodation left un-booked on the day of your wedding, will be available to book by general holidaymakers.
If general holidaymakers were to book available accommodation on the day of your wedding, you can rest assured that this will have no impact on your wedding day or proceedings.
We have ensured that the pricing available for all forms of the on-site accommodation is extremely competitive and affordable, especially in comparison to nearby hotels.
Absolutely! To guarantee exclusive use of the entire site (the Tipis, Luxury Lodges, Shepherds Huts, Camping Pods and Glamping Tents) for your bridal party and guests on your special day, we recommend booking your tipi and accommodation package together at the same time.
This is because the on-site accommodation, if left un-booked, could be booked by holiday makers at any point through Bowland Escapes on the date of your wedding.
To secure the exclusive use of all accommodation, Bowland Escapes would require a 10% deposit for the value of the entire booking but is then able to send individual payment links for the different forms of accommodation, nearer the time of your wedding.
This means that you can split the costs of the different accommodation types between your bridal party and guests.
For example, if one group of friends is planning to stay in a Luxury Lodge and one couple is staying in a Shepherds Hut, we can work with you to send the different payment links to each party to ensure the remaining balance for all accommodations is paid.
Apart from catering, you are welcome to use suppliers of your choice.
We would only ask that you keep us informed of the suppliers you intend to use as we will need to contact them to arrange access times and will need to see a certificate of liability insurance from all suppliers. Any electrical equipment will need to have a valid PAT test.
We do have a list of recommended suppliers available if you are looking for some amazing, local suppliers. Click here to view it.
We work solely with the fantastic Cheek and Tongue to provide catering for our events at Bowland Tipis.
Please visit the Catering Page for more information.
You and your chosen suppliers will have access to the site from 1pm on the day before your wedding.
For example, if you are getting married on a Saturday you will have access to the site from 1pm on the Friday.
Unfortunately, no, this is due to our proximity to Bowland Wild Boar Park and any firework display could cause serious distress to their animals.
Absolutely, we are fortunate to have a large car park conveniently situated near the Tipis and accommodation for your guests to leave their vehicles overnight.
All we ask is that all cars are removed from the car park by 11am the day after your wedding.
As animal lovers we are more than happy for your furry friends to be apart of your big day. There is also the option for them to stay with you in the on-site accommodation at an extra cost.
Last orders at the bar at 11:15pm.
All music is to stop at 11:30pm with all guests not staying on-site having left by midnight. We ask all guests that are not staying onsite to have left by 12am.
Suppliers must collect all hired items by 11am the day after the wedding.
Any items left onsite are left at the owners risk and we cannot be held liable for loss or damage.
